Dear Jeff, I think you are doing a wonderful thing, and I am honored to be a small part of it. I would like to share a quick story with you on how your daughter effected change today - thousands of miles away. I write to you from a U.S. Army post in Heidelberg, Germany. My seventeen-year old daughter, who is preparing to take her driver's license test in a few months, found your website in her research online. We tasked her to find ways of improving her driving skills - and one was putting the "Nickel from Nicole" to use. She shared your website with us and I was so touched, I just had to write to you. I'd like to share this with you as well - you might be happy to know that your beautiful daughter made a difference in MY life today. I pride myself on being a conscientious driver, who never texts, emails, etc., while driving. My car has Bluetooth and for some reason today, my iPhone did not sync properly when I started driving. I picked-up my phone while driving to help fix the issue as I wanted to listen to my music...but stopped. For some reason, as I picked-up my phone (while driving) to begin investigating the problem, your daughter popped into my mind. I immediately stopped...put my phone away....and thanked your sweet daughter. So, you see? Nicole's story helped stop me in my tracks today. Granted, I do not yet have the nickel on my dashboard, but your daughter's story caused me to put my phone down. She is affecting change globally! ;-) Hope that makes you smile. Thanks again and have a great day. I shall go make a donation in just a few minutes. Take care and know you and your family's courage affected change today. Most appreciatively, Shanna

I met Nicole's Dad today at my Starbucks. My coworker Leigh Ann asked about the nickel on his shirt. He told us the story and while I made his latte he got a handful of the Nickel cards for us from his car. There is a nickel on my dashboard. And a prayer of praise and thanksgiving on my lips for this family who is finding a way to move forward and honor their daughter...who refuse to let sadness and tragedy be the last word about this beautiful young woman's life. Grace and peace be with you. I will spread the word.

Love the cause of your race. Excellent. I am brand new to it, and believe in it-- I have two teen drivers. Will just point out that I didn't understand HOW good the cause was until I drilled into the website. As a pro art director/graphic designer, the whole point of the race-- to keep teens safe in vehicles-- could be right there on or next to the race logo. THAT message really touches us all. My first impression was to donate nickels for a girl who died of a disease. I don't mean to hurt any feelings, this is a very worthy cause. Just think it may help to see that cause right up front.

Hi Sharlene and family ! Wow...I had no idea that you had gone through this loss. I am SO sorry....I will be praying for you all. I am sure even now it is overwhelming at times. My son (23) lost a good friend for a similar reason. It was in September, 2010. Your daughter will not be forgotten. She is a beauty, and now a beautiful angel. Your old friend..... If you notice everyone dies sooner or later. When children come to live with us they bring joy to the world and it is usually not affected in any way by the multiple death of people that surround them here, there or on another side of the world. I wish you would remember Nicole's life in joy instead of spreading fear of driving.

Although it was a little chilly, the 5K this morning was amazing. I did not know Nicole personally, but I was friends with a few of her friends. I know that your efforts will help teens around the world realize the dangers of reckless driving. Nicole will always be in my prayers, and I will be reminded of her every time I get in my car and see the silver nickel on my dash. See you next year at the 5k!

i just saw your story on the news, and i wanted to tell you that you and your family and friends are in my families thoughts and prayers, i have a daughter that is 20 and i am going to give her a card from your family, and i have a nephew that is 15 and a niece that is 16 and driving now. she likes to drive fast and show off for her friends, and i am hoping that by giving her one she will see that you dont have to show off or speed to get to a place. my husband is a tow truck driver, and ive been on calls with him and we have both seen things that makes my heart sink, anyway i just wanted to say thank you, for doing what you are doing, and if you need help with anything, planning anything, helping get cards out, i live in denton and know alot of places that will help pass out the cards as well. my husband and the police departments that im friends with will also be on board. just email me at the above address. thank you and GOD BLESS

I was given the honor to meet the mother and father of Nicole while installing the memorial plaque at Jasper. Working at almost all the schools will allow me to show staff the postcard that was given to me by Nicole's parents. I hope that it will bring this problem to the forefront and get teens and parents talking about their driving habits.

Thanks for stopping by the garage the other day and dropping off some flyers, sorry I didn't have time to talk. Our thoughts and condolences to you and your family. We wish all the best to Nicoles friends anyone this cause can help make an impact with. It certainly makes us stop and think and drive a little slower over here. - RR

My wife Donna and I bought a new car last year and glued a Nickel to the dash board. I sincerely thank you for thinking of using the memory of Nicole and powerful story on this web site to help us remember to drive safely.

Hello LeGrow family my name is Adrian Pina and I am a pastor of a church called Shadyrest Bible Church in central NJ. A couple of years ago I had the honor of playing a round of golf with Jeff at the Firewheel Golf Tournament as we were paired together because we have a mutual friend in David Hill. I have since moved to NJ and I wanted to let you know I am speaking about the story of Ruth this Sunday and the grief that Naomi and Ruth experienced but the hope they were able to find and I was reminded about the story of your daughter and I am going to share Nicole's story and how you guys have brought hope in the midst of a very dark time. I was so happy before we moved that my wife and I were able to participate in the 2nd annual 5k. God bless you guys and you have people in NJ praying for you and using this story to bring awareness and hope to people.

Always your Buddy Jeff! My kids are driving now and they have heard all about Nicole from me. I made them hand out Nickel cards at the High School. There is a Nickel on every dash board. Hope you are doing well. Robert
